It turns lighter a minute in. Contrasts continue. Later it seems like each member gets a chance to solo. Good stuff. A good album that just doesn't do a lot for me overall. Well, I'm not sure what happened here, but Asgard are suddenly a primarily heavy metal band! Well, not quite, but much of this puts me in mind of Iron Maiden or similar groups. This album was my first experience with the band, whose sound relies heavily on old school Marillion and Saga. They have a keyboard-driven sound with ethereal vocals, and don't seem prone to much in the way of instrumental excess no minute solos here.
