I have used Maxell types for sometime and have found the product quite reliable even more so than recording the lectures at times on a cellphone. If you need these tapes, buy these. They work fine. A good value too. I hope they keep making these until my analog stuff dies. My kids got a hold of an old recorder.

They tape themselves singing or talking. Was exactly what we expected. Bought these to record bedtime stories for my grandsons who live in another state. Can't find them anywhere at a reasonable price so I was thrilled when I found them on Amazon. They still like to use tape dictation equipment in our law firm. It is getting hard to find the microcassettes. These work okay but tend to jam easily and after the tape gets crinkled they have to be tossed.

Perhaps they have been on a shelf for a long time and gotten brittle or the tape used is just super-thin, not sure. I found that once opening a new cassette tape, fast-forwarding all the way to the end and then rewinding back to the beginning before starting any dictation will tighten up the tape on the spools and is helpful in preventing jams.

Ordered 3 sets of 9 NEW microcassets. They arrived with a rubberband around 9 loose tapes and the other 18 were loose their rubber bands had come off in a bubble envelope with a rip big enough for them to fall out. Not to mention that 4 tapes had come out of the plastic case and the cases had to be put back together. To advertise as new with a picture showing them in a manufacturers package seems a little deceiving.
